Optocouplers / Photocouplers
Optocouplers, also known as photocouplers or optoisolators, are electronic components that consist of a light emitter (usually an LED) and a light-sensitive semiconductor device (photodetector) within a single package. They are used to electrically isolate two circuits while allowing them to communicate optically. Optocouplers are particularly useful for applications where electrical isolation is essential to prevent interference, noise, and voltage spikes from affecting sensitive components.
