1893CKILF General Description
The IDT1893C is an advanced low-power physical-layer device (PHY) that has been specifically designed to support the ISO/IEC 10Base-T and 100Base-TX Carrier-Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detection (CSMA/CD) Ethernet standards, ISO/IEC 8802-3. This industry-leading product is equipped with the Auto-MDIX feature, effectively correcting crossover errors in plant wiring, making it an ideal choice for MII, Node applications. Additionally, the IDT1893C incorporates Digital-Signal Processing (DSP) control in its Physical-Medium Dependent (PMD) sub layer, allowing it to transmit and receive data on unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) category 5 cables with attenuation in excess of 24 dB at 100 MHz. This revolutionary IDT-patented technology virtually eliminates errors from killer packets, ensuring reliable and efficient data transmission. The IDT1893C also features a Serial-Management Interface for seamless exchange of command and status information with a Station-Management (STA) entity. Moreover, its Media-Dependent Interface (MDI) can be configured for both half- or full duplex operation at data rates of 10 Mb/s or 100Mb/s. With its exceptional performance circuitry and pin-for-pin replacement capability for the IDT1893BF, the IDT1893C is perfectly suited for a wide range of applications including NIC cards, PC motherboards, switches, routers, DSL and cable modems, game machines, printers, network connected appliances, and industrial equipment
