FAN53540UCX General Description
With a wide input voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V, the FAN53540UCX is a versatile step-down switching voltage regulator that delivers an adjustable output with high efficiency. Its proprietary architecture with synchronous rectification allows it to deliver 5A at over 90% efficiency, with a very high efficiency of over 80% at load currents as low as 2 mA. Operating at a nominal fixed frequency of 2.4MHz, this regulator minimizes the need for external components, requiring only a 470 nH output inductor and a 20 µF output capacitor. It also offers the flexibility to add additional output capacitance for improved regulation during load transients, while maintaining stability. The device features pulse frequency modulation (PFM) for power-save mode at moderate and light loads, with a typical quiescent current of 50 µA, ensuring low power consumption. It seamlessly switches to fixed-frequency control at higher loads, providing excellent transient response. In shutdown mode, the supply current drops below 1 µA, further reducing power consumption. The FAN53540UCX is available in a compact 20-bump 1.96 mm x 1.56 mm Wafer-Level Chip-Scale Package (WLCSP), making it suitable for compact and power-efficient designs
