ISL9104AIRUJZ-T General Description
The ISL9104AIRUJZ-T is a state-of-the-art step-down regulator designed to power low-voltage microprocessors in compact devices such as PDAs and cellular phones. With a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 6V, it can accommodate a single Li+ cell, three NiMH cells, or a regulated 5V input, making it suitable for a variety of power sources. Its high switching frequency of 4.3MHz allows for the use of small external components, contributing to its compact and efficient design. The device offers a guaranteed minimum output current of 500mA, ensuring reliable performance even under demanding conditions. It operates at low IQ skip mode under light load, consuming only 20µA of quiescent current for maximum light load efficiency, and automatically switches to fixed frequency PWM mode under heavy load. The inclusion of low ON-resistance P-Channel and N-Channel internal MOSFETs maximizes system efficiency and reduces the external component count. Internal digital soft-start, overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown functions further enhance safety and reliability, while the quick bleeding function discharges the output capacitor when the IC is disabled, adding an extra layer of protection. Packaged in a 1.6x1.6mm µTDFN, the ISL9104AIRUJZ-T offers a comprehensive and compact solution for powering low-voltage microprocessors with maximum efficiency and reliability
