LR12K4-G General Description

The LR12K4-G is a high voltage, low output current, adjustable linear regulator that offers a wide operating input voltage range of 13.2 - 100V. With the capability to adjust the output voltage from 1.20 - 88V, provided the input voltage is at least 12V greater than the output voltage, this regulator provides flexibility for various applications. The adjustable output voltage is achieved using external resistors R1 and R2, as shown in the typical application circuits. The LR12 is designed to regulate the voltage difference between VOUT and ADJ pins to a nominal value of 1.20V, which can be further adjusted by the external resistor ratio R1 and R2. Moreover, it features current and temperature limiting to ensure safe and reliable operation. The output current limit is set at 100mA maximum, and the minimum temperature limit is 125°C, preventing any potential damage from excessive current or temperature. Additionally, the LR12 incorporates protection for SMPS start-up circuit applications, automatically turning off when an external voltage greater than its output voltage is applied to VOUT. To maintain stability, it requires a bypass capacitor of 100nF or larger and a minimum DC output current of 500µA
