The LTC40/LTC40-1 ensures efficient energy management by automatically reducing the battery charge current such that the combined load and charge currents do not exceed the programmed input current limit. This prevents overcharging of your battery, thereby extending its lifespan. Furthermore, the charger also controls the total current used by your USB peripheral for operation, guaranteeing proper power delivery to your device
