MAX3162EAI+ General Description
MAX3162EAI+ is a RS-232 transceiver that operates at data rates up to 250kbps and features a low-power shutdown mode. It is designed to meet the requirements of EIA/TIA-232 and V.28 communication interfaces and is suitable for use in industrial and commercial applications.The device features a ±15kV ESD protection on all transmitter outputs and receiver inputs, making it robust and reliable in harsh environments. It includes a 2.5V to 5.5V power supply range and a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.MAX3162EAI+ comes in a 28-pin SSOP package and is RoHS compliant. It requires only four external 0.1μF capacitors for operation and offers a low-power standby mode to conserve energy. The transceiver also features a receiver output enable and receiver active-low timeout pins for additional flexibility in control and power management.
