The MAX3221/MAX3223/MAX3243 products from Maxim incorporate the groundbreaking AutoShutdown™ feature to achieve an ultra-low supply current of 1µA. This innovative feature automatically activates a shutdown mode when the receiver inputs do not detect a valid signal level, effectively turning off the on-board power supply and drivers. This smart energy-saving mechanism is particularly useful when the RS-232 cable is disconnected or when the transmitters of connected peripherals are turned off. The system then powers on again without any manual intervention when a valid level is applied to any RS-232 receiver input, ensuring efficient and reliable operation
