The MC7815ACD2TG is a part of the MC7800 Series, which consists of positive linear voltage regulators. These regulators are versatile and can be used in a wide range of applications, including on-card regulation. They are designed with internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe-area compensation features to ensure reliable performance. When properly heatsinked, they are capable of delivering output currents of over 1.0 A. Additionally, these regulators can be used with external components to achieve adjustable voltage and current outputs. The MC7815ACD2TG is also available in an automotive NCV7800 version, making it suitable for use in automotive applications
