MD82C52/B General Description
The Intersil 82C52 is a cutting-edge programmable Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) and Baud Rate Generator (BRG) housed on a single chip. This high-performance device, crafted with Intersil's advanced Scaled SAJI IV CMOS process, offers unmatched support for data rates of up to 1M baud asynchronously when operating on a 16X clock (with a clock frequency of 16MHz). The integrated Baud Rate Generator provides the flexibility of selecting from 72 different baud rates by utilizing a single industry-standard crystal or an external frequency source. Additionally, a specialized pre-scale divide circuit ensures seamless compatibility with standard RS-232-C baud rates when paired with any of the three specified industry-standard crystals (1.8432MHz, 2.4576MHz, or 3.072MHz). Moreover, users can take advantage of the programmable buffered clock output (CO), which can be configured to function as a buffered oscillator or as a 16X baud rate clock to cater to diverse system requirements
